The student handbook contains information valuable to the growth of each student. As martial arts are both mental and physical it is important for the student to study the information found within this handbook ans well as the movement taught during practice.
This should be memorized by all students, regardless of rank.
The Students' Creed
To build ourselves mentally and physically,
To build friendships with one another and be a strong group,
To never fight to achieve selfish ends,
but to develop might for right.
The Students' Pledge
- I will observe the principles of Tae Kwon Do
- I will respect the Instructor and all senior ranks
- I will never misuse Tae Kwon Do
- I will be a champion of freedom and justice
- I will build a more peaceful world
The Students Attitude
- Never tire of learning. A good student can learn anytime, anywhere. This is the secret of knowledge.
- A good student must be willing to sacrafice for his art and instructor. Many students feel that their training is a comodity bought with monthly dues, and are unwilling to take part in demonstrations, teaching, and working around the Dojang. An instructor can afford to lose this type of student.
- Always set a good example for the lower ranking belt students. It is only natural that they will attempt to emulate their senior students.
- Always be loyal and never criticize the instructor, Tae Kwon Do, or the teaching methods.
- If an instructor teaches a technique, practice it and attempt to utilize it.
- Remember that a student's conduct outside the Dojang reflects of the art and the instructor.
- If a student adopts a technique from another Dojang and the instructor disapproves of it, the student discard it immeadiately or train at the Dojang where the technique was learned.
- Never be disrespectful to the instructor. Though a student is allowed to disagree with the instructor, the student must follow the instruction and then discuss the matter later.
- A student must always be eager to learn and ask questions.
- Never break a trust.
